This is a planned change by Altberg as they deem the defender sole unit to be superior in slip resistance and traction, plus it is acid and oil resistant. Upper – 1.8mm Nida Hydro full grain soft supple leather
Lining – Cambrelle® ultra breathable, non-waterproof membrane
Midsole – Tri-Flex® 2-3 season, a combination of medium flex and torsional resistance, suitable for tabbing as well as rough terrain, excellent support of ankle and heel
Sole – Vibram® Masai rubber sole and lightweight, shock absorbing midlayer, ideal for tabbing and running

A closer look
Developed in 1997 with input and help of serving soldiers based in Catterick Garrison and other military bases around the UK. The requirement was for a leather boot that was shock absorbing, lightweight with minimal moisture absorption, as on many tasks it was inevitable that they would get wet inside, so minimal weight gain when wet and fast drying were key requirements.

The Sneeker Microlite has a high unlined leg and features Cambrelle ultra breathable, non-waterproof membrane around the foot, heel and ankle.

The midsole is moulded individually for each size to give correct support/ flex and the upper is made from 1.8mm Nida Hydro full grain soft supple leather.

After more than 20 years, this boot is still the first choice of many soldiers for selection and training and everyday use.
